Mama Mia’s Macaroni Salad

A delightful mix of pasta, mayonnaise, sour cream, and cheddar cheese with a hint of Dijon mustard. This recipe is a recreation of the popular Macaroni Salad from The Shed in Ocean Springs, MS. It’s a perfect side dish for any BBQ or family gathering.


  • 2 cups of uncooked shell pasta
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/8 cup cider vinegar
  • 1/8 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp garlic salt
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 bell pepper
  • 1/2 red onion
  • 1/4 shredded cheddar cheese


  • Boil and drain pasta. Set aside to cool to room temperature.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together all of the ingredients except for the bell pepper, onion, and cheese.
  • Mix the sauce with the cooled pasta.
  • Add in the chopped bell pepper, onion, and cheddar cheese.
  • Refrigerate and enjoy!
